Yes, in some circumstances. If your vehicle is parked outside your property and is not on hire purchase or registered to someone else, DCBL may be able to clamp or remove it. A car on finance is protected because it is not legally yours until the final payment is made. Contact us immediately if DCBL are threatening your vehicle so we can help you protect it.

Ignoring DCBL will not make the debt go away and will make the situation worse. If you do not respond to their Notice of Enforcement they will visit your home, and if they gain entry they can list your goods. Enforcement fees of £235 are also added to your debt at this stage. Contacting us early gives you far more options.

DCBL can visit on weekends but must stay within the 6am to 9pm window set by the Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013. They should not visit on recognised public bank holidays. If they attempt contact outside permitted hours, note the time and date and report it to us.

DCBL fees are fixed by law. The compliance fee is £75, the enforcement visit fee is £235, and the sale stage fee is £110. DCBL cannot charge beyond these fixed amounts. If you believe you have been overcharged, contact us and we will review your case.

No. DCBL cannot enter a property if only children under 16 are present. This is a specific protection under the Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013. If this has happened, it is a serious breach and should be reported to us immediately so we can help you make a formal complaint.
